Job situation update

Well, I handed my notice in at the end of last week. Although I'm on two months' notice, I can leave after one month if I finish off my current work and successfully handover it over to the Bulgarian outsourcing company.

So, that means I should be available to start contracting on 12th March. If you know of any C# contracts in my area (Uckfield, Brighton, Haywards Heath, Crawley, Tunbridge Wells, Eastbourne), please let me know. If you're considering employing me for a contract, my CV is here.

Do you forgo your redundancy monies if you resign before they kick you out?

I do, yes. It's not a huge amount - about 3 weeks' pay. I'd rather leave sooner and not have to put up with another 3 months of low motivation and watching my colleagues go and leave me the hand-over stuff. I just want to get on with my life now, and I'm happy to take the hit financially.

You seem so committed to work & your life... Why not travel the extra mile? JFDI

[I'm assuming you mean that the extra mile is staying until the end.]

Usually I am, but as soon as they said "You're dispensable, we don't want you here anymore" my motivation and commitment disappeared, just like that. I've tried, but I can't get it back.

It's like being dumped by a girl, which is bad enough, and then she wants you to hang around and show her new boyfriend where she likes to go dancing, what restaurants she enjoys and how she likes her feet rubbed. Not for me.

Wow, you used to have girlfriends who paid you to rub their feet? I need to get me one of those!

Do you have an employee rep? No-one in my company is "dispensable!"

I can relate to what left "The Outlaw Torn!"
or
"The Bleeding of Me!"
